Where they were
Rahul came to us as a sole trader running RJ Media, providing social media and AI consulting services to a growing client base.
What we did
We guided him through the transition from sole trader to limited company, timing it around the point where incorporating made sense for his income level. Since then we've managed his bookkeeping and company accounts, and built out his revenue reporting so he can see recurring retainer income separately from one off project work, which matters when a big part of running a consultancy is knowing which of your income is reliable and which isn't.
Where they are now
RJ Media now operates as a properly structured limited company, with bookkeeping, accounts, and reporting that keep pace with a growing client list. Beyond the numbers, Josh has introduced Rahul to a lot of people across his own and our network, which has generated him a good amount of new business, the kind of relationship that goes further than just filing accounts.
Industry insights
Online agencies and consultancies like RJ Media typically take payment through processors like Stripe, and linking that cleanly through to Xero, alongside reporting on multiple different revenue streams, is what gives an owner a true picture of the business. These types of businesses also don't typically carry high costs, so we work closely with owners like Rahul to make sure every single cost they're entitled to claim actually gets put through the accounts, nothing missed just because the expense list is short.
