Alderley Edge, Cheshire

Alderley Edge accountants for owner-managed companies and the groups behind them

Tax planning that looks across every company you own, with one client manager who sees the whole picture.

We work with ambitious founders in Alderley Edge and across the UK, including owners who run more than one company. You'll have one dedicated client manager across all of them, so you explain the structure once and each decision takes every company into account.

We already work with a lot of owner-managed companies in Alderley Edge, so you won't be our first client from the village.

Tax planning comes as standard, so it's done before each company's year-end. Call 0161 706 0855 to start.

When one company becomes two or three

Around Alderley Edge, the commercial weight sits just to the south at Alderley Park, a 400-acre campus. Over 250 businesses there span biotech, pharmaceuticals, diagnostics, analytics and software. It's easy to see how an owner there ends up with more than one company.

Say a founder runs a lab services company there, then starts a software venture, or buys the building the business trades from. Each step makes sense, but together they leave three sets of accounts and no clear route for money between them.

Group structuring and restructuring sits within our tax work for exactly this moment, because the structure decides how money can move between your companies. Our plain-English guide to holding companies explains what one is and when it makes sense.

Whether it suits you depends on your own facts, and moving shares or assets between companies can trigger tax of its own. That's why the conversation comes before any move.

Tax planning that looks across every company

Alderley Edge sits in what people call Cheshire's Golden Triangle with Wilmslow and Prestbury. An owner's money there may be spread across trading, property and investment. A founder with a company on the Alderley Park campus and another that owns property near Macclesfield needs one plan for both.

So tax planning has to look across all the companies, because a decision in one changes the position in another. Ahead of each company's year-end, and your personal one, we review pay, dividends, pension contributions and reliefs with the whole structure in view. That gives you months to act, not days.

One client manager across all your companies

Three companies mean separate bookkeeping, VAT and year-ends for each. One person who knows how they connect saves you repeating the story each time. Every client manager is a chartered accountant, which means one qualified person answers on all your companies.

Our team has experience across audit, industry and practice, and our founders trained and qualified at PwC. Background matters here because each of your companies may need a different answer.

Flamin Fitness's director wanted one accountant to manage all three of his limited companies. He now deals with one team across all three, which is the arrangement you'd get here. Read Flamin Fitness, three companies and one point of contact.

What you get across the companies

Each company's basics, meaning bookkeeping, payroll, VAT, statutory accounts and corporation tax, run on cloud accounting software, so every set of records stays current. Cash flow forecasting, available through our advisory work, shows where the money sits across your companies before you move any of it.

How we work with you

Send a message by WhatsApp, email or phone, or book a video call, and expect a reply the same day or the next. A question about one company doesn't wait while you run the others.

We're a fully remote team, so one video call can cover all your companies at once and nobody has to travel. To get started, book a discovery call and bring a list of your companies and how they connect. That way we can see the structure straight away.

Other Cheshire pages

The Cheshire overview is a plain guide to choosing a firm, for owners still comparing options.

The Wilmslow page covers management accounts, for directors who want figures during the year.

The Knutsford page covers how a dedicated client manager works, for owners who want one person to call.

What's the average price for an accountant?

Averages aren't much use when the work varies so much. A group makes that worse, because each extra company brings its own accounts, VAT and payroll.

Rather than name a typical figure, we ask how many companies you have, how they relate and what you want from us. Then we build a bespoke quote around it, with no obligation to proceed. You can ask on our quote page.

Can I do my own accounting for a limited company?

Many directors do for a single company with no staff. It gets harder with a second company, loans between them, staff or VAT, as one company's mistake spreads into the others. The ideal moment to hand it over is before the structure gets complicated, since untangling it later takes far more time.

What is a private or independent accountant?

Both labels are loose. They usually mean a firm outside the national chains and the big four, but nobody polices the wording.

Ask who owns the firm and who would handle your work. For a group, ask whether the same person looks across all the companies, because that's who will spot how one company affects another.
